LENSEY NAMIOKA
Lensey Namioka is a chinese-born American writer. She was born on the 14th of June in 1929 in Beijing ,China. When she was 9 years old, her family moved from China to United States due to the political movements like the Japanese invasion. Since little, she always enjoyed reading and writing adventure stories; She wrote her first book at 8.
Lensey attended University of California, Berkeley, where her father was a professor of Asian Studies. She married Issac Namioka, who was born in Japan. They moved to Ithaca, where Lensey taught Wells College and Isaac at Cornell University. They had two children, Aki and Michi.
Lensey writes about China, chinese American families and Japan, where her husband was born. She has won many awards for her books like Ties That Bind, Ties That Break and The Samurai and the Long-Nose Devils.
