Here are three new questions for the reading project related to Ties that bind, ties that break.

1. Theme. Several themes may be dealt with in this book. List and explain them.

2. The significance of this book in the literary world, at the time it was published and thereafter

What is a theme?

The implementation of the word "theme" belongs more to the world of literature and art and is the opinion expressed on a subject. It is the underlying idea, image or motif which unifies the whole and is repeated or developed throughout the work.

Another way to look at it would be to say it is the "root", i.e. the fundamental or essential aspect of the work.

Label Creation - What does it mean to blog?

Students,

As we spoke during the class, here is the blog which will contain all of the written production based on the book, Ties that bind, ties that break Lensey Namioka

The first task you have is to create your own label with your full name -that is first, middle and last names-. Under such label you will write a one paragraph reflection on what it means to blog.

How can I create a label? First you need to create a new post. How? By pressing the Create new post button:

This button is originally in orange in the Blogger homepage right on the side of the title "English VII: Composition"

The create new post button will take you to a new page where you can provide a title to your post, a page where you can write the content and a side bar to the right. On this side bar you will find the menu: Labels, click on it, and write your name followed by a comma. For example:

When you have finished writing your reflection, hit the button Update on the top right of the screen.

Congratulations, you have made a blog entry, a new post and a new label!

We will start  the reading of Ties that bind, ties that break soon, and this blog will help us establish a dialogue without being in the same place physically, as well as generate a bank of viewpoints on said book.
